DFU Committees/Information

Membership: Jeffrey Jones reminds everyone, please invite other local businesses to attend and join. Also, if you cannot attend, provide the opportunity to someone from your office to attend, the more networking the better!

From the Parking Committee: Leave the parking for the customers – let’s encourage more business for our downtown merchants.

A Message from Movie in the Park: Isaac Norris– Mark your calendar for October 7th the next movie sponsored by DFU and Listerhill. Bring your family, chairs and  blankets and come to Wilson Park to watch “La La Land” -a great fun, free event for the whole family. (Rain plan will be inside the United Methodist Church)

A message from FIRST FRIDAYS Chair Belinda Duke: Historic Downtown Florence  has so much to offer, come share in the fun with us on September 1st for First Friday from 5pm-8pm. September theme will be “A Tribute to our First Responders”. We will be honoring those who take care of our great city – representation from the local Fire, Police, Hospitals, Blood Mobile, Military and Veterans, Ham radio operators who provide broadcasts in emergencies, and Air Evac. Also other great  events such as autographs from Auburn and Alabama players, great music from our local bands on Mobile Plaza and great shops! Grab fabulous eats at one of the  downtown restaurants, and don’t miss the opportunity to shop the wide array of talented arts and craft vendors, classic cars too. Line-up for the Big River Music Stage is a follows: 5:00-Electric Zen; 6:00-Winslow Davis; 7:00 – Rock Euporia. Don’t miss all this great entertainment! See you at First Fridays.

Also, like us on face book -our UNA interns with the help of Phil Abrams our Photographer put up new information weekly highlighting the vendors -check it out!
